KNIGHT MODELS, BATMAN ARKHAM CITY: DEATHSTROKE, ROBIN & GREEN ARROW. YEAR: 2013.

Having this job has its advantages because sometimes you have the chance to paint master pieces like the ones we bring you today. It is about a regular customer Batman Arkham City miniatures collection.
Painting Knight Models miniatures it is a privilege. As in previous works, the quality of details and the way they are modeled is impeccable.

In fact, these Arkham City models are great to break the monotony that we have followed along this past week. Step by step, our customer is getting a great bunch of miniatures and a nice collection.
We don't know which one is our favourite. Which one is yours?

Guess who he is?

Robin! The inseparable mate of Batman. He has a wise colour composition.

Is he Robin or a Wood Elve? No! Is Grenn Arrow!

We have tried our best painting Green Arrow with cenital light.

Deathstroke. 100 % Marvel colours.

We really like this miniature: his stately post and presence along with his colours make him one of our favourites.

We hope you like these BATMAN ARKHAM CITY models.
If you want to see more, here we leave you a couple of links related with this subject:

We keep painting day after day.
Stay tuned to our next post because it seems it's going to be long!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMA: SAURON'S DEFEAT. YEAR: 2013.

Last diorama! With this one we finish these 6 days dedicated to the Lord of the Rings.

Diorama of today is the first scene from the Fellowship of the Ring and serves to introduce Tolkien's universe.
After seven years of besieging the Dark Tower of Barad-dûr, Sauron appeared to challenge their foes. The Last Alliance was formed by an army of men from Gondor commanded by Elendil and an army of Noldor Elves leaded by Gil-Galad. After killing both kings, Gil-Galad and Elendil, Isildur, son of the last one, cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand with the broken sword of his father: Narsil. That's the scene we want to represent with our diorama:

Isildur's details along with the body of his father Elendil.

Sauron, the dark enemy.

We want to thank our followers here and your comments in Facebook and other forums where we are present too. We hope you like this week dedicated to the Lord of the Rings. From now on we are going to upload more projects we are working on.

Thanks a lot and see you soon!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMAS: SARUMAN'S PALANTIR & TOM BOMBADIL AND GOLDBERRY.

Fifth post of our Lord of the Rings week. Is the previous one before the end, so this is almost done!

Today we bring you two dioramas instead of one, so our blog goes back to the scenes of books and films. And we say books because one of the dioramas for today does not appears at the Fellowship of the Rings, as it should be. You will recognize the other one instantly.

Both are small pieces but we and our client really like them.

Saruman and Gríma Wormtongue along with the Palantir of Orthanc.
When we saw this pair of miniatures finished and our customer proposed us to create small dioramas, we thought about this scene immediately. Here Saruman and Gríma are talking with Sauron across the Palantir.

Check out how we have painted the Palantir with Sauron.

Pay attention at the ground: Orthanc has a black marble floor. We tried to get that texture to our diorama.

Tom Bombadil and Goldberry.
These sympathic characters don't appear in the films. However, in the books, they help Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin twice on their scape from the Shire toward Bree: first from Old Man Willow and then from Barrow Wights.

This charming couple lives at the Shire. We had to show life, that's why we have used brilliant green and yellow colours.

Tom Bombadil's details.

We save our last scene for tomorrow. Kings of men and Maias gather in our final diorama. You going to lose?

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: INDIVIDUAL MINIATURES. YEAR: 2013.

Here is our fourth post about the Lord of the Rings of this week.

As we told you yesterday, today we are not going to show a specific scene, but independent miniatures over wooden plinths that we have especially decorated in order to reproduce diferent places of the Middle-earth.
Although it is not so colourful as the dioramas we have uploaded before, we think these miniatures deserve to be here.
We hope you like them!

Éomer, Marshal of the Riddermark.
We have wanted to represent him in the middle of the battle of Pelennor Fields. Pay attention at the base details, especially to weapons and shields abandoned in the ground.

King of the Dead.
We really like the ghostly blaze it has at its feet.

Denethor, Steward of Gondor.
We can see Denethor walking among the ruins of Osgiliath in the extended version of the film "the Return of the King". That's exactly what we tried here.

Nazgûl

Orc Shaman of Mordor on Warg.
According to the diorama that we built for Mordor Orc Commanders, we have painted it base with grey colours and dead vegetation.

Elrond, Master of Rivendell.
We didn't know how to decorate Elrond's base, so we browsed a bit on Internet and decided to place him over a white marble slab, a perfect ground for Rivendell.

Aragorn at the Black Gate of Mordor.

Dying Boromir.
You can see the broken horn of Gondor at his feet.

For tomorrow we will bring more scenes of the Lord of the Rings. In concrete we will upload two mini-dioramas that our customer has really enjoyed. They are small but very charming!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMA: THE MIRROR OF GALADRIEL AND CELEBORN. YEAR: 2013.

Third diorma of our "Lord of the Rings week"

We are sure you will recognize the scene of today even when Frodo doesn't be there. It is the mirror of Galadriel at the Lorien forest. She uses the mirror to show Frodo past, present and future facts. After refusing the One Ring, Galadriel passes her last test and decides to leave the Middle-earth toward Valinor, the land of her kin: Noldor folk.

Our customer has wanted to include Celeborn in this diorama as well, to have a reprensentation of the Lorien government. Unfortunately, Galadriel's posture is not the best because this is the one that has when Silvan Elves say goodbye to the ring fellowship at the shore of Anduin.
Anyway, check out the clever use of the roots to wrap diorama and the vegetation elements to give the impression of life.

Miniatures of Celeborn, the mirror and Galadriel.

Tomorrow we will be here again with some individual miniatures instead of a scene. We have decorated each base to acclimate them on a concrete place of the books and films. We are sure you will like it too!

Tuesday 16 April 2013

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMA: MORDOR ORC COMMANDERS. YEAR: 2013.

We keep going with our "Lord of the Rings week".

Today we want to dedicate our second diorama to Mordor Orc Commanders. As you can see, we have placed them into a wasted, grey and devastated land (as Mordor should be). Vegetation has cold and dim colours but perfectly breaks the monotony made by rocks.

This kind of little diorama is the first one of many that we are getting done. Our customer wants for his collection a small representation of each army that appear on the films or books. We have now in our workshop the commanders of Gondor, Isengard, Morannon Orcs, Easterlings... and we already have plenty of ideas for all of them!

Mordor Orc Commanders on their thematic base.

View from above.

Tomorrow we will be back with our third Lord of the Rings diorama. It will be something more special and "swanky". Stay tuned!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMA: FORD OF BRUINEN. YEAR: 2013.

As all our followers know, we have since Autumn of the last year a huge request about the Lord of the Rings. It is composed by a unique and customized selection of many scenes and miniatures of the films or books. Until now, you have been able to see miniatures when we finished the painting process, never with their respectives wooden plinths that we have performed (exept the diorama the Tomb of Balin and the Winding Staircase of Minas Morgul).

This weekend we had the pleasure to receive personally our customer and chat about more future ideas. So he picked up the first part of his collection based in a big range of little scenes and dioramas about the Lord of the Rings. That is why we have decided to arrange this "Lord of the Rings week" and show you one diorama each day.

Here you have the first one. This great diorama has been made with really cheap materials and it is not so hard to build as it seems. You all know the scene for sure. Who doesn't remember Arwen carrying Frodo while they are chased by Nazgûls? Who doesn't remember that wave with water horses summoned by the elven power that razes the Black Riders?
We are please to introduce you: the ford of Bruinen!

Arwen calling the Bruinen.

Defiant Nazgûl claiming for Frodo (this miniature is the Shadow Lord).

Check out the splash under the paws of the horse.

Horses of water details.

Image taken from above, so you can see better the river details.

We hope you like this diorama as much as we enjoyed building it. For tomorrow we will show you the second one of this "Lord of the Ring week". Do not miss it!
